Lancaster
Named to honour two Marborough college old boys who flew Lancaster bombers in the famous dambusters raid.
Flight Lieutenant David Patrick Hatfeild Maltby who returned from the raid and continued to fly with 617 Squadron. He was killed on 14th September 1943 when his plane crashed into the sea on the return flight from another raid.
Flight Lieutenant Patrick Vere Hopgood. With an injured air craft made it to Mohne dam but he and the crew had to bail out. He is buried in Rheinburg War Cemetary, Germany.
